The Gorge – Review
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 1/2
The Gorge, now available on Apple TV+, is a fantastic film that I thoroughly enjoyed. Starring Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, the story follows their characters as they are tasked with overseeing a mysterious gorge that has been under protection since World War II.
The film boasts a great premise, strong direction, and incredible chemistry between the two leads. Teller and Taylor-Joy deliver excellent performances, making their dynamic one of the film’s standout elements. Much of this is thanks to director Scott Derrickson, known for Doctor Strange and the Sinister films, who brings his signature eerie touch to the story.
The mystery surrounding the gorge is compelling, and when the truth is finally revealed, it delivers in a way that is both thrilling and unsettling. The creature designs are fantastic, and the presence of a shady organisation adds another layer of intrigue.
With a well-paced two-hour runtime, The Gorge is an engaging and original action film that I highly recommend. If a sequel is ever planned, I’d love to see more from this world.
